Before you ask … yes, we live like this!
The
TV tells you that the interior of your house should be as bright
as possible … then they would say that, they want the best
possible lighting for their cameras.
I,
like most of my generation, grew up in a house with knocked-through
rooms and huge glass windows, white paint, white carpets, white
curtains and white sofas. Modelled on a thousand TV studios. The
terror of getting it dirty was compounded by the fear of breaking
the hundreds of fragile items which littered the sterile surfaces.
This
house is colourful, tactile and fairly indestructible. Do not be
afraid to touch the walls or climb around.
Many
of the rooms use Ultra-Violet (UV) light. The lights produce long-wave
UV which is quite safe, unlike medium-wave used in sunbeds and short-wave
produced by the sun. The paint on the walls absorbs the UV and re-emits
it as visible light.
